STORY :

Home shirt as worn when Italy were competing in the 2006 World Cup, winning the competition to claim their fourth World Cup title after beating France 5-3 on penalties after the tie finished 0-0 after extra time.

Home shirt as worn by Del Piero as Italy's ageing golden generation claimed a fourth World Cup under boss Marcello Lippi. The Juventus striker came off the bench to score a late on against the hosts Germany in the Semi-Final in extra-time after Fabio Grosso had but the Azzurri ahead just moments earlier. Italy would face France at the Olympiastadion and the World Cup Final would go to penalties for only the second time in history. Both sides scored their opening kicks, Materazzi slotted his strike past Fabian Barthez to a chorus of French boos. David Trezeguet then stepped up to the plate, the striker rattled the bar and the Italians were ahead. Following a net-buster from Daniele De Rossi and a cool finish from Eric Abidal, Del Piero stepped up to the mark and a calm and collected second later the ball was in the back of the net. Fabio Grosso's spot kick then claimed the trophy for Italy. Never write off the Italians
